May is the month for Mothers, to welcome this month; I made a letter for my Mom. Dear Mama, The word THANK YOU is not enough to express how much I am blessed to have a mother like you. For providing me and Kristine with all our needs and wants, preparing very delicious meals every day, washing our clothes even though you are very tired whole day doing the chores, earning for a living despite you are very busy taking care of baby Dirk and being the best Lala Vangie. We may sometimes fight on small things, getting angry and easily get disappointed on my wrong decisions, you never fail to show how much you care about me.  Now, that I am a mom like you, all the things I have learned from will be the values and lessons I will teach my son. I agree that every child is unique. I was able to observe my nieces and cousins as they grow. Many have already told me that baby boys developed “late” compared to baby girls, honestly at first, I was a bit paranoid but seeing my son now, it didn’t alarmed me anymore. As of the moment, our little man: • Can walk but still need assistance, he tends to swivel sometimes. • He may not be able to clearly state simple words but he loves to babble, sing in his own tune and murmur by himself. • Loves to play with his toys and talks (baby language) to pictures found on his books. • Giggles and laugh every time he sees his favorite character on TV. • Recognizes the people that surround him. • Able to identify things that he owns.   Every day is a milestone for my son, every new thing he discovers and talent he performs seems to be so magical for me.

Dirk had his 2 nd beach outing this summer at our hometown in Samboan, Cebu last saturday. Even though my schedule was very tight; we really find time to go because it was the birthday of our tito Amboy (may his soul rest in peace). Dirk enjoyed his day at the beach with his cousins. What I really love in our hometown is our very clean beach, I find it safe for my little man to crawl freely and play on the sea shore. 

I have been an HR practitioner for about 5 years and definitely I love my job. For 5 years I was able to learn a lot and more importantly, I was able to gain true friends. My bosses were been very good to me. Since mother’s day is coming, I want to give credit to my very 1st boss, my very energetic and alluring Ms. Leonor Laluna (a.k.a Mommy Leony). Time flies so fast. My baby boy has now turned into a little man. As a working mom, I really cannot give my 24/7 attention to him. I am thankful because Lala Vangie always documents through taking pictures of Dirk while I am in work, his achievements, talents and milestones. Here are some of the pics that really melted my heart. I may not have seen these in actual but my son always put a smile on my face.

Since my little man was able to recognize images and sounds, he was really a great fan of MICKEY MOUSE that’s why we had a “Meeska Mouska” Mickey Mouse theme party for him. And now that he is already 1 year old, the site of Mickey Mouse will really paint a smile on his face. What really amazed us was when we went to SM last Sunday because he saw a bundle of Mickey Mouse but instead of smiling, he was crying. I was really having a hard time figuring out why was that his reaction, when I put him down for him to reach the stuff toys, that was the time I was able to realize that he was not comfortable seeing Mickey Mouse being put in a CAGE like display container. Seeing your son crying is really hard for a mom but knowing the reason behind his reaction was really heart melting. his ♥ for Mickey Mouse

Like all mothers and fathers out there, we only want what is best, good and safe for our little treasures.  Since my little man turned 8 months, I started to use the Mimiflo feeding bottles, Mimiflo training cup and the Mimiflo weaning bowl for him. Our little man had his 1st Easter Sunday Celebration at the beach. We found a private beach somewhere at Compostela, Cebu. With our family and friends, Dirk was able to use his mini pool along with rubber ducky and had his 1st easter a memorable one. .

It’s the 3rd month of the year and I am soooo thankful for the blessings that PAPA JESUS has showered for both of us.
