Hi to all mommies and daddies out there! I think some of you
also have toddlers same age with my little boy. So, how are they doing? For our
little man, he is enjoying his #terribletwo stage. He is currently at 27 kilos and 41 inches in height.
He loves to run back and
forth in a big ground, mingling with other kids regardless if those kids knew
him or not, loves to dance in his favorite songs and finally can utter words
like numbers and letters. I am aware that some of my friends are concerned because
Dirk can’t really talk straight sentences at his age right now, but still I don’t
want to pressure my son.
Had his new haircut a week ago |
Despite of my very busy schedule at work, we (his dad, my mom and sister) are trying our best to provide a strong support system
for him. We encourage him to sing even though he has his own lyrics, we read
books with him and let him discover things on his own and sometimes with other
kids. I let him play and enjoy as much as he wants but with my supervision.
I am hoping that all of us are able to provide support system that our kids needs. Have a great day to all!
Don't be too pressured. Each child is unique and has their own development phases. Good job at you and your hubby for supporting him all the way! :) That's all our children need, love and support. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Mommy Louise :)
DeleteYup, no pressuring talaga! My 2yo talks fluently, but even though he's active, he's still a bit clumsier than other kids. Also, is he really 27 kilos? That's the weight of a 9 or 10 year old na kasi eh and half the weight of an adult; you might want to double-check hehe. :D
ReplyDeleteThank you Mommy Marie :) Hehe normal naman ang BMI ni Dirk, malaki lang po talaga kami both parents nya kaya daw naging ganun :)
DeleteJust call me Maan haha. No, seriously, I think you've gotten his weight wrong. 27 kilos for a 2yo is considered obese na. (For example: http://www.gmanetwork.com/news/story/371806/pinoyabroad/news/2-year-old-pinay-joins-heavyweight-kids-in-dubai-weight-loss-tilt) I think baka you meant 17 kilos. Please don't take this the wrong way. :-)
DeleteOr 27 pounds :-)
DeleteIts ok Mommy Marie :)
DeleteKids are unique and they follow their own milestones. No need to worry as long as we are there to lovingly support them :)
ReplyDeletei always tell myself that kids take their own sweet time doing things that we think they should already be doing at their age. i am starting to realize that we really do need to throw out those milestone charts and let our kids be kids.. they will learn and do things when they feel it is the right time... :)
ReplyDeleteExactly Mommy Zaine! :)
DeleteEvery child is unique and has his so called 'learning curve'. If he's super active, maybe he's just focusing on his motor capabilities. Also, try talking to him more, it worked with my 2 yo :)
ReplyDeleteThat is what we are doing mommy honey :) Same with Dirk, he is also really super active :)
DeleteMy 3-year old cannot carry conversations yet. His speech development is so much slower than his brothers had been and I noticed that he has a hard time pronouncing a lot of words - parang matigas. But we just prod him on and encourage him. He's more kinesthetic and he walked at 9 months, we expected the delay as it is common to those who started walking too early.
ReplyDeleteA very good support system and a dozen of patience really helps Mommy May :)
DeleteEvery child is unique. I have a nephew din na late nagsalita. But when he finally does, ang daldal naman! At straight na. Hindi bulol at all. Tama yan, don't pressure your son too much. Let him take his time.
ReplyDeletewow :) so happy for your nephew :)
DeleteTLC or tender loving care is what our kids need and I believe that's what you're giving your son. :) Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThank you mommy ;)
DeleteLet him grow at his own pace! Nurture him and shower him with your love as you always do. :)
ReplyDeleteWow!!! a comment from my favorite mommy blogger! Thank you Queen B! :)
DeleteThat last thing our kids need is pressure. They all learn at their own pace, and as long as your son has a good support system such and yourself and your husband, he will definitely get there soon!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the comment mommy :)
Deleteoh those terribletwos! hehe! indeed like what other mommy said, every child is unique and has his own phase of learning.. what our children need is support. there was a time when a relative keeps on comparing my daughter to other kids (she's delayed on speech) which made me stop from meeting her. my daughter doesn't need comparison and criticism!
ReplyDeleteThank u mommy aine :) ... Same here, some of our relatives are pressuring Dirk and i find it very annoying :(
DeleteKids have grow, develop, and learn at their own phase. I remember that terribletwo phase -- it's so tiring and it will test your patience. Just give Dirl all the love, time, and care that he needs and I'm sure he'll grow up to be an amazing boy.
ReplyDeleteYes mommy peachy! patience at 200%! :) He is the only kid at home and all our attention and love is all for him :)
DeleteMy daughter is turning 2 this October 30. I should be prepared since she's in terrible two stage na..hehe...But of course, kids are known to be explorer and dramatic..Patience is a virtue..:-D
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday in advance to your little princess mommy lally and welcome to the stage where in patience needs to level up! :)
DeleteDon't worry about it. I'm sure your kiddo will start speaking in straight sentences as soon as he's ready. :)
