3 TIPID BIRTHDAY PARTY TIPS

OMG! 5 months to go and Dirk will turn 3! Last year, I also started to plan as early as possible.  Planning is really important especially if it involves COST (learned this term in an accounting perspective hihihi), we make sure that the money we a lot for this will really be SULIT. Here is the link of my blog when we had Dirk’s 2 nd birthday celebration last March:  http://diosyl.blogspot.com/2014/02/getting-ready-dirk-ludwig-2.html So here are some of my TIPID tips for planning a birthday party: FREE VENUE There are some restaurants that offers FREE venue for your celebration, examples of which are Shakey’s, Jollibee, McDonalds, Pizza Hut, Max’s Restaurant & Sunburst. I guess many of you were able to try these venues BUT if you really want a TIPID one, your HOME will be the best venue especially if you have an area that will your visitors and your host, magician or puppeteer. KEEP IT SIMPLE AND DO IT YOURSELF I was hands-on the decorations for Dirk

Long time no blog: Dirk at 2 years and 7 months

Hi to all mommies and daddies out there! I think some of you also have toddlers same age with my little boy. So, how are they doing? For our little man, he is enjoying his #terribletwo stage. He is currently at 27 kilos and 41 inches in height. He loves to run back and forth in a big ground, mingling with other kids regardless if those kids knew him or not, loves to dance in his favorite songs and finally can utter words like numbers and letters. I am aware that some of my friends are concerned because Dirk can’t really talk straight sentences at his age right now, but still I don’t want to pressure my son.  Had his new haircut a week ago Despite of my very busy schedule at work, we (his dad, my mom and sister) are trying our best to provide a strong support system for him. We encourage him to sing even though he has his own lyrics, we read books with him and let him discover things on his own and sometimes with other kids. I let him play and enjoy as much as he wants bu

KUYA MAU : Perfect for Celebrations (Magician Philippines)

It’s been a very long time since I posted my last blog, about 4 months ago.  I have a lot to blog about that I wanted to post but unfortunately I have been really very busy at work and at home. As a parent, we just want the best for our kids, not only providing their needs but also giving them their wants. When we had Dirk's 2nd birthday celebration last year, I was able to request a clown as his party host because i find magician expensive. I was able to search this Magician and I guess most parents will like this. I think some of you knew him. His name KUYA MAU (Maurice Supetran), Mau is a host magician in the Philippines who offers puppet show packages in a very reasonable price. He is currently residing in Marikina, Manila (too bad ang layo nang Cebu) and for those parents who are planning for the birthday celebration of their kids, you can also check KUYA MAU’s puppet show packages. Dirk’s 1st Manila Trip 2014

After 9 months from the date that I booked the flight, Dirk had his 1 st airplane ride & Manila trip. At first, I was anxious that he might not be comfortable riding in a plane, thank goodness our little boy was behave, the educational videos that I downloaded on his tablet was really a big help. We arrived last May 22 and stayed in one of our family friend in Pasay. At his young age, Dirk really had fun during our pasyal moments but more on his tantrum moments maybe because it’s very humid outside and the traffic was heavy. On our first day, we went to Mall of Asia, Dirk was so full on his heavy lunch at KFC, and he loves their mushroom soup. We stroll and bought stuffs for Dirk, Tita Itin, Lala Vangie and of course, for me. We stroll whole afternoon. Dirk was enjoying running and playing inside the mall. What we like was the mall was very child friendly. We had dinner at Congo Grille, good customer service. Our second day was a bit stressful because we went to Ba

Thank you LAGUNDEX : Dirk's Asthma Attack

Last Monday, April 14, 2014, I rushed our Dirk at the nearest Hospital because of his asthma. I was really wondering why he had an asthma attack. I was very careful in everything he does and also particular in what he eats. After I talked to the Doctor, Dirk was diagnosed to have a “Bronchial Asthma”. The doctor said that not all kids have same symptoms when having asthma & some allergies can cause asthma. I would like to share this information to all of you so that we will be more watchful to our kids. At the Emergency Room (Chong Hua Hospital) Bronchial asthma (commonly known as asthma) is characterized by constant coughing, panting & shortness of breath.  Dirk had experienced all this symptoms that is why I immediately rushed him to the ER. Last April 16, 2014, I received a surprise package from Lagundex.  The package from Lagundex The medicine was a blessing. Many medicines were prescribed by Pedia (Pred 10, Allerkid, Ventolin & Salbutamol Nebules),

Summer is NO holiday for cough and colds - Lagundex

Finally, it’s summer! I think all of us are waiting for this, right? time to carry out that vacation you’ve been planning for the whole family. But before you go ahead with your travel preparations, there are more important things you have to consider and be aware about. During summer, the weather may become changeable — from an extremely hot day to sudden downpours. These unexpected weather changes cause cough and cold viruses spread easily, giving you flu-like symptoms similar to what you experience during rainy season. Unfortunately, I and my son had been a victim of this weather changes. Really a bad experience for us but we are both thankful because we are both well now. Like what happened to us, do not let your family’s summer outing be interrupted with cough and colds. Keep your family safe by reminding them to wash their hands frequently, eat a balanced diet, get plenty of sleep, stay well-hydrated, exercise regularly and avoid contact with sick people. If someone

Oh Hello Summer!

It’s been a long time that I have posted my last blog, after the 2 nd  birthday celebration of our little boy; I had a lot of errands that needs to be attend to, not only at home but at work. March has been a very busy month for me and despite of that, I am very thankful that I was able to handle it. Our little boy who just turned 2 had grown up so fast; loves to be more independent and very active in playing. To start the summer, our boss sponsored a beach outing for us, not only for us employees, but we were privileged to bring our families with us. We had our beach outing at Costabella Tropical Resort Lapu-lapu Cebu City. The place was really nice & cozy and the kids really had a great time. The pool and beach line is safe for kids because their life guards are very attentive, the food is great & the amenities are excellent.  How about you? did you started your summer already? how did you start your summer? The Story behind the name DIRK LUDWIG

Before I gave birth to my little boy last 2012, I was really having a hard time looking and searching for a perfect name for him. Like any other mom or dad, we want to have that ideal name for our precious one. It took us more than 5 months to finalize the name of our little boy. After all the research we had, we finally decide to name him DIRK LUDWIG.  Why Dirk? Why Ludwig? So here how it goes. Dirk came from the famous Dallas Mavericks Player (Dirk Nowitzki). Not only my son’s father is an avid basketball fan, he himself is basketball player. He was a varsity player from one known Universities here in Cebu City. Last 2011 (I got pregnant July 2011), Dallas Mavericks was the 2011 NBA Finals Champion and Dirk Nowitzki was awarded as the MVP (Most Valuable Player). Not only we want to name our son from 1 of the famous Sport Icon, Dirk also has a very meaningful meaning. The name Dirk means 'The ruler of the people.' It is of Germanic and Dutch origin. It is mo
